हालांकि, समय-समय पर इस किले में  अलग-अलग शासकों द्धारा बदलाव किए गए हैं। मुगल सम्राट अकबर के पोते और मुगल साम्राज्य के उत्तराधिकारी शाहजहां ने इस किले में सुंदर सफेद संगमरमर के पत्थरों का इस्तेमाल कर इसके अंदर बेहद आर्कषक और रमणीय मस्जिद का निर्माण करवाया और इसमें सुंदर नक्काशी कर इसे और अधिक उन्नत बनाया।
